Soap care

Here's my top tips for prolonging the life of your soap bars:
The KEY is to allow them to completely dry between uses.
Here's a few of my soap care TOP TIPS:
1. The best way of doing this is to open a window to get the air flowing and place the soap on a soap dish to drain. Just be sure to turn the soap over so it dries thoroughly throughout. If the bar stays wet it'll disintegrate quickly so make sure to follow these steps.

2. In the winter I like to place my soap bar on a kitchen towel on top of the radiator as it's too cold to have the window open.

3. If you're still struggling to keep your soaps dry, I suggest swapping your soaps over every couple of weeks to allow the soap to harden before they're used again.

4. Feel free to chop the soap into smaller pieces if it's too big. Avoid doing this with the salt soaps though as they are very hard.

5. When the soap gets really small, don't throw it away. Instead, pop it into a soap pouch and use it as a wash bag to ensure that every last piece is used up so there's no waste.

6. The salt soaps can sometimes appear to 'sweat' when they get too hot or too cold, if this happens just pat them dry with a towel and place in a cool, dark place out of direct sunlight.

7. With our regular soap bars, if they get too hot or too cold they can get a little tacky and may stick to each other slightly so keep your soap bars separated whilst they're waiting for their turn to be used. You can use the tissue paper that they came in to help with this to wrap individually or to put between the bars.
8. I like to keep my soap bars in a box in the towel cupboard whilst they wait for their turn to be used so they stay at room temperature and are away from the sun.
IDEA - if you have kids, take a cookie cutter and cut the soap into a fun shape to make washing their hands fun! Put the trimmings into a soap pouch so there's no waste! Please don't do this with the salt soaps though as they're too hard and will crumble.

I'd love to know if these tips have helped you or if you have any other top tips for making your soaps last longer/saving waste.

ALL of our products are made with gentle ingredients and are made for customers with sensitive skin!

In terms of soap bars, most commercial 'soaps' are usually detergents which can dry out and irritate your skin. Our soaps are handmade from scratch with my own formulated recipe. We use the cold process method. The oils selected will moisturise and nourish your skin all you have to do is pick your scent.

We have so many customers with eczema and psoriasis who use our products daily, a lot have even said it's helped to calm down their skin.

I always recommend checking the ingredients before buying and if it's your first time ordering and you're not sure if it's worth the hype: try our Naked Collection; these products are colour and fragrance free.

Give them a go and if you love it you can come back and try other colours and fragrances if you fancy.

For our soap bars we recommend using them within 6 months as the scents and colours will fade slowly over time.

None of our products have expiry dates and will generally last a few years unopened but we do have to advise that all of our products be used within 6 months of opening as long as they are stored in their recommended conditions.

Our salt soaps contain a lot of salt, this makes them last a really long time.

Our normal soaps don't last quite so long but they're incredibly moisturising.

I recommend using the normal soaps as a gentle hand wash and a salt soap as a body wash.

Both can be used as either hand wash or body wash but this is just what I suggest to make your bars last as long as possible.
